COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Focus on the Family has received awards in two categories from the National Religious Broadcasters’ (NRB) Annual Media Awards.
The Most Innovative Digital Method Award was awarded to the Bring Your Bible to School 2019 campaign, and the Radio Program of the Year award was earned by Adventures in Odyssey.
According to NRB these awards “recognize last year’s most outstanding ministries, facilities, and programs/producers in the world’s preeminent association of Christian broadcasters and communicators.”
“The Bring Your Bible to School Day initiative is honored to receive NRB’s Most Innovative Digital Method award. We are incredibly grateful to and proud of those students and their families who stepped out boldly in faith; bringing their Bibles to school and sharing God’s hope with friends. The award is a testament to God’s provision and the dedication of my teammates at Focus on the Family who are committed to helping young people live out their faith,” said Project Manager for Education Issues and Initiatives Bret Eckelberry.
Adventures in Odyssey’s Executive Producer Dave Arnold said, “Being recognized as NRB Radio Show of the Year is a distinct honor. Receiving this award thirty-two years into the production of the show makes the giving of it that much more meaningful. When we began working on Odyssey in 1987 we certainly didn’t expect we would be in production more than five or six years. That’s the general ‘sell by’ date for dramatic production. That the Lord has deemed us worthy of His inspiration and creativity for so long is deeply humbling and is a testament to the power of the Holy Spirit to use flawed vessels for his glory. As long as He decides to use Odyssey to impact lives for His Kingdom, we will remain faithful to His call.”
Focus on the Family representatives will accept these awards during the NRB 2020 Christian Media Convention, which will take place February 25-28 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
